Which projects is a KAMEL ESS BESS solution suitable for?

Our solutions are ideal for commercial and industrial applications (C&I) up to 10 MWh as well as utility-scale projects up to 100 MWh. We offer both PV-coupled and stand-alone storage solutions.

Can existing PV systems be retrofitted with a BESS?

Yes, our storage solutions are suitable both for new builds and for retrofitting existing PV systems – including direct DC coupling.

Where does KAMEL ESS operate?

We operate throughout Europe, particularly in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Scandinavia, Italy, Poland, the Baltics and Eastern Europe.

How much does an industrial battery storage system cost?

Costs depend on capacity and power. Commercial systems start in the mid five-figure range, industrial systems in the six-figure range. Through peak shaving and self-consumption optimisation, systems typically pay back within 5 to 8 years.

How does peak shaving work?

The storage system detects load peaks and discharges precisely in those moments. This reduces the highest power drawn from the grid, which determines your grid fees. Companies with registered load metering (RLM) often save tens of thousands of euros per year.

How long does implementation take?

From order to commissioning, depending on system size and grid connection situation, it typically takes 3 to 6 months. On-site installation usually takes only a few days.

Are there subsidies for battery storage?

Depending on region and use case, KfW loans, state funding programmes and tax depreciation models may apply. As part of the feasibility analysis we screen all available funding options for your project.

Is storage worthwhile without a PV system?

Yes. Even without photovoltaics, a storage system lowers grid fees through peak shaving and enables participation in balancing energy markets and dynamic electricity tariffs. Combined with PV, returns increase further.
